What is a Mentor?

What is a Mentor?

Because of you
Who taught me "I can"
I do what I do
I am who I am
-Jason Rivera

What is a Mentor? A mentor is...
-A guide
-A help
-A catalyst
-An enzyme
-An enabler
-A fuel-source
-An alignment agent
-An untangler
-An experience accelerator

Some mentors you may know are...
-Your parents
-Your spouse
-Your extended family
-Your church leaders
-Your life improvement coaches and mentors
-Your boss and coworkers
-Your teachers
-Your friends
-Books
-Experience, the base mentor. Your goal in life is gaining experience through your body for your spirit. Your spirit has a body to gain experience. Everything boils down to experience.
-Infinite Intelligence, the Master Mentor who allows all people to have experiences

A mentor helps...
-Fight against starfish dementors, which try to disable you by distracting, discouraging, deterring, or derailing you
-Untangle your thoughts, emotions, and actions to help you remember you
-Align your four parts so you can determine your fifth part: your Open Space or Potential
-Provide tools to improve specific aspects of your life

Pick a mentor!
You choose who you learn from - whether it's a parent or other family member, a friend, or a boss or teacher, you will have a mentor in your life. At the very least you'll have experience proper as a mentor, but that is the slowest and most painful mentor you can choose. Or you can choose an experience accelerator such as a life improvement coach. Finally you can turn to Infinite Intelligence who is sometimes difficult to understand but will always lead you on the right path. Choose wisely!
Jason Rivera of Pearls of Mankind will happily mentor you too!
Shoot me a message and let's start improving you!

Clams VS Starfish

Clams Versus Starfish

One of my first Facebook posts relates each of us to a clam. Clams make Pearls when they deal with intruders or parasites that irritate them, just like people gain experience and knowledge and hardiness as we are confronted with trials of our own. You can check out those posts here.

From that Facebook page I quote what one of all humans' enemies try to do:

"Starfish are natural predators of clams. They latch on to the clam and pry its shell open just a crack to send digestive acids into the clam shell. If it succeeds it has clam chowder for dinner.
"Have you ever heard voices in your head telling you negative things? These voices try to pry open your happiness and poison you with their acid. Once you give in to these voices they'll try to digest you from the inside out. And they'll try to kill you and your Pearls. How many people go around with starfish latched onto them, destroying them? How do you fight these starfish? And how do you help others fight their starfish?" -Jason Rivera, Pearls of Mankind

A starfish wrestles to open and devour a clam

I don't know about you, but I really don't like that acidy negative voice trying to eat me alive and destroy what I hold near and dear. They tell you you're having a bad day. If you believe it, they'll tell you that you've only ever had bad days. If you believe that, they'll tell you it's not worth getting out of bed. And then they'll tell you to stop trying because life isn't worth it. If you believe that...well, don't believe that. Life is always worth it. Your life is worth it. Everyone's lives around you is worth it. Find a strand of light in this life to cling to, and work up the courage to tell a parent, a teacher, an advisor, a police officer. Anyone who can help you see the light again.
